Currently re-reading my way through "Free Culture" by Lawrence Lessig. I bought my copy decades ago and found it to be insightful when I first read it.

Figured it was worth giving it a re-read, given how much the world has changed since the last time I read it.

So far impressed by how well he threads the needle, and I'd forgotten just how much the history of so many of the creative industries that so decry "piracy" now depended on that self-same piracy to get their start (Hollywood, for example - moved to California to make it harder for Edison to enforce his patents on film technology at the time, [pg 53-55, many more examples in that chapter]).

Will probably turn this into a thread to post about specific bits that trigger thoughts as I go.
