A quotation from Bill Watterson

CALVIN: Bugs fly in such crazy loops and zigzags. I wonder why they don’t get dizzy and barf.
   HOBBES: Maybe they do!
CALVIN: Eww, gross! Ha ha ha! But then why would they keep flying that way?
HOBBES: Maybe bugs like to barf!
CALVIN: Ewwww! They would!! Ha ha ha ha! Blaugh!
CALVIN: I tell you, Hobbes, it’s great to have a friend who appreciates an earnest discussion of ideas.

Nothing is in our hand whether intellectual or dumbness. So, No pride on good brain because its in nature's hand.

#intellectual #dumbness

#france is the last #home of #philosophy which is why the ignorant #fascists want to topple it. #socrates died, but #camus decided to fight back correcting an #intellectual mistake. Melville is the greatest American author noted when a crew is seduced by the lure of a shiny coin into going against the sacred white whale, they meet their own doom, but no one listens to #starbuck. This ship is made of #american wood . My #hope is to float away safely on a coffin while everyone is lost at not sea.

“I think our largely academic #faith and #work cohort needs to walk for a moment with #Simone #Weil, a #French #Marxist-friendly #intellectual who laboured on #factory floors, which, many scholars suggest, hastened her death through untreated tuberculosis and intentional malnutrition from fasting. Weil’s radical #solidarity with the factory workers sits uneasily alongside gatherings of faith and work leaders in carefully curated ecosystems of exposed brick and kombucha taps, where artisanal coffee flows and existential uncertainty lingers just beneath the surface. Across the noise and heat of the factory floor, this gaunt, intense woman turns and fixes her gaze on us. Her crippled frame stands as a living rebuke to every comfortable theory of work we tell ourselves.”

The Workers We Cannot Reach

There is some work that dehumanizes us, Weil showed us how to talk about it.

The actual most interesting man in the world.

"[A]s #Morin always insisted, truth is complex. So, too, was his career, which in many ways reflects the origin story of the #French #intellectual. Born as #EdgarNahoum in #Paris in 1921, his parents were #Jewish immigrants from #Salonica, a city that had been home to #Greece’s largest Jewish community until #WorldWarII. (Nearly 90% of the community, some 54,000 men, women, and children were eventually murdered in #Nazi #deathcamps.) A precocious student, #Nahoum spent his days in libraries studying #German philosophers like #Hegel and his nights in cinemas studying French films directed by the likes of #MarcelPagnol.

Yet everything changed, including his name, come #France’s defeat and #occupation by #NaziGermany in 1940. Making his way to the Unoccupied Zone, the 20-year-old Nahoum, who had been a pacifist before the war, soon joined both the banned #CommunistParty and the #FrenchResistance."
