If you are telling jokes and entertainment, you can get away with idea murder. If you are criticizing #insincere jokers like trolls on social media, Donald Trump, Rupert Murdoch - you will be shut down. Using Neil Postman to criticize the moderators of social media for not grasping the impact of their electric media systems will get you shut down, no matter how much they claim they are not here for powerful and wealthy.

@auschwitzmuseum mentioning Ausschwitz and using the #neveragain hashtag without connecting to current genocides happening in Africa, Asia, and in the Levant srems #insincere and #dishonest. Never again means never again, and not never again with restrictions.

When giving or accepting(!) a #sincere #apology always make sure it contains.

1. It should express #regret.
2. Only the behavior of the one apologizing should be mentioned WITHOUT mentioning any behavior of others.
3. It should contain a promise of change

Are any of those missing? Then the apology is most likely #insincere and should rephrase/reject it.
