A recent journal on InkBunny had some rather interesting comments from the site owner. His comments included a statement that one's genitals/genetics are the objectively correct basis for determining what pronouns to use for somebody. The most respect he's willing to show for someone's pronouns is to avoid addressing them by pronouns. As you might expect, he continued digging that hole further into the comments, including a minimally paraphrased quote from Donald Trump.

Even if you find the site objectionable for hosting content that is AI generated or that wouldn't be legal to host in the US or France, this still seems like a heck of an escalation. It is contradictory to champion freedom of artistic expression, which is stated to be a core principle of the site, and then disrespect the gender expression of others. It certainly makes me question if I, a transfemme author who uses writing to process things I experienced as a teenager, am welcome to continue existing on the site.

Edit: Here it is on the Internet Archive, as the page appeared at the time of my post, if you'd prefer not to visit InkBunny itself or fear something is being edited or taken out of context.

I will no longer be uploading to Inkbunny by CookieSkoon < Journal | Inkbunny, the Furry Art Community

I won't delete my gallery, but I (for an indeterminate length of time) will no longer actively use this site to host my new work. The new staff is apathetic to trans issues or actively transphobic. T...

Another good think about InkBunny? The mods are on top of things. I got a scammy-looking message eight hours ago offering to make a comic out of a story. By the time I clicked to look into it, the account had already been suspended. Outside of the Fediverse, I can't think of anywhere else with mods who are that quick to yeet scammers.

Also, to the fine folks at InkBunny: Please reconsider how stories are presented on the site. Putting them in such a small box is a bad user experience. It's almost unusable on mobile, where the box contains less than a paragraph at a time. This single usability issue is why I encourage people to read my stories on SoFurry or Weasyl instead.

furaffinity 🤔🤔🤔
(I have a whole buncha filtering/blocking setup on my network/devices so personally don't really care but still... WOW)

#FurAffinity #SoFurry #Weasyl #InkBunny #Furry

For a long time, #inkbunny has been a furry gallery site much-maligned by the 'mainstream' furry community for its liberal content policies. As #furaffinity and #sofurry have tightened restrictions around certain subject matters, IB has remained pretty open. Many people avoid it for that reason.

But it's very easy to set it up to exclude tags you're uncomfortable with. I hope that with #tagging being front of mind during the twitter migrations, more artists might consider IB as an option again. Its UI and tagging system is arguably the best of any furry gallery site.

I really wonder if someday we can have a good alternative to #FurAffinity, which is so far behind in terms of features and has completely fucked up new rules.
·
#SoFurry is cool, but apparently people almost only use it for stories
·
#FurryNetwork is dead
·
#Weasyl is dead
·
#Itaku is absolutely terrible
·
#InkBunny has unacceptable rules regarding allowed content

For anyone suggesting #Inkbunny as a replacement for #FurAffinity, has GreenReaper evolved on his stance regarding the use of peoples' preferred pronouns? Using his own website as a source, it seems like he has a pretty egregious history of stating that pronouns are for sex and not gender, which is pretty blatantly transphobic. Not only is that a fundamental misunderstanding of what gendered pronouns are for, but requiring someone transition before you adopt their preferred pronouns is just... awful.

I've seen several people talk about Inkbunny, so are people not aware of this, apathetic towards it, or did GreenReaper actually evolve? I only had this pointed out to me today, so I'm not really up to speed on it.
