A fabulous day tour for our guests yesterday ! Black Redstarts and Common Bulbul started our day off closely followed by the splendorous Northern Bald Ibis and then an absolute #Shorebird fest at Las #Marismas !
Nearby the rice fields also provided masses of Glossy Ibis freaked out by Peregrine Falcons and Marsh Harriers which provided an insane #Ibisnado! as Black-winged Kites floated by and Bluethroats hopped through our scope views!
Returning from #Morocco on our #BirdingTwoContinents tour we spent our final day in #España😊
The #NorthAfrican theme was evident here too with the worlds loneliest Common #Bulbul in #Tarifa and the enigmatic and amazing Northern Bald #Ibis observed during their group #yoga session !

Whilst the #migratory flow continued over our assembled heads, a dead cow fed over 80 Eurasian Griffon Vultures near our watchpoint and this #vagrant Rüppell’s Vulture drifted in to our view for our guests !
Offshore 4 Fin Whales cruised to the west !

The #FlywayHighway contnued over our guests yesterday! With Black Kites, European Honey Buzzards, Short-toed and Booted Eagles, White and Black Storks flowing through while a juvenile Bonelli´s Eagle harassed the migratory flow!
Common and Pallid Swifts, House Martins (including a leucistic individual!) Red-rumped and Barn Swallows and masses of European Bee-eaters paper the gaps!
With well over 5,000 Black Kites crossing the divide here yesterday and nearly 2,000 White #Storks, Booted and Short-toed #Eagles Egyptian #Vultures, European Honey #Buzzard - this juvenile Griffon #Vulture joined the #migration party attempting it’s “youth-dispersal” to the #Sahel but turning back to have a rest and another attempt !
The arrival of Black #Kites continues as they soar in from high altitude arriving from the north west to join the masses of others now waiting at the departure gate here in The #Straits
.....Soon the wind will drop and then it will be #MigrationMayhem!

We watched as lines of Black Kites cruised out into The #Straits as swirling masses of White Stork arrived overhead to also make their journey into Africa 😊

With a strengthening #poniente wind today Black Kites amassed around the valleys of The #Straits attempting to cross but many waiting for better conditions. As Booted and Short-toed Eagles joined their growing numbers, a group of 178 White Storks showed them how it's done!
