Our tally shows 10 new fact-checking projects in 2025, compared with more than 30 that stopped posting.”

Repeating my post-comment on the original Reuters article (a fine piece of reporting): Informative, outrageous; & the Israeli govt apparently knew nothing about it: “Before scrubbing its online presence following enquiries from Reuters, BlackCore described itself as "an elite influence, cyber, and technology company built for the modern era of information warfare." It said it provided governments and political campaigns with "cutting-edge strategies, advanced tools, and robust security to shape narratives."
“It has not responded to repeated requests for comment.

The sudden rise of Pauline Hanson's One Nation is not organic. It is the result of "a sophisticated, transnationally networked information operation"

Call It What It Is: Foreign Interference

If a hostile state ran this sort of operation to swing our vote, we'd call it foreign interference. It's time we did.

2/3 The Myth of Neutral Tech 🤖

AI models aren't objective arbiters of truth; they reflect the data they are fed and the guardrails built by engineers. By lobbying tech companies at the data-pipeline level, advocacy groups can bake specific political narratives and terminology directly into the code before the AI ever generates an answer.

@EndIsraeliApartheid

The battle lines in tech and geopolitics are shifting. It's no longer just about content moderation or reporting individual posts—it’s about algorithmic training.

Dr. Maya Ackerman recently suggested that advocacy groups bypass public-facing social media and go "directly to the companies" to embed "technical and advocacy solutions" into AI models.

🧵 A quick thread on why this matters...
