Yesterday I learned how to make barcodes for the items I sell so I can print them out and adhere them to the packaging of cards i make.
It took quite a lot of work-arounds, but I eventually got my off-brand thermal printer to print a PDF version of each barcode at the scale i wanted.
So now I have the capacity to scan in the barcode when I sell something in person and keep track of my stock. Now I can actually look at the tracking evidence to see what pieces are selling best, not just guess from anecdotal evidence.
I spent the evening printing and adhering stickers to each of the greeting cards sleeves with items I’ve already printed, and learned how much more work I have to do... I realized a *huge* amount that I was selling in person didn’t have a corresponding listing on my storefront.
Since I got through the cards I’ve made, now i have to turn my attention to card packs and my prints. I think that’s all I’m going to for right now. That’s… a lot.
It’s horrifying how one can think they’re ahead of the game when all it’s really doing is opening up floodgates of more tasks to do… I’m overwhelmed, but it’s a good overwhelm. It’s a hope-fueled overwhelm. It’s all moving forward.
