Valley Of Search by Alan Braufman, released on India Navigation in 1975.

Andy Beta wrote for Pitchfork reviewing a reissue:

"...While the sleeve denotes nine selections, Valley of Search really moves as two sidelong suites. Across these large-scale pieces, the first takeaway might be that Braufman is often eclipsed by his excellent sidemen. That’s no knock against him: The album features one of the 1970s’ most formidable bassists in Cecil McBee, a nimble and foundation-deep heavyweight who could be both lyrical and primal as he held down the low end for Pharoah Sanders, Jackie Mclean, Andrew Hill, and Charles Lloyd. The extra percussion and whistles that add to the din come from Ralph Williams, a future collaborator of Wadada Leo Smith..."

Alternate Spaces is an album led by bassist Cecil McBee recorded in 1977 and first released on the Japanese Bomba label, after which it was reissued on India Navigation.

In his review for AllMusic, Scott Yanow stated "The often melodic but unpredictable music definitely holds one's interest".
JazzTimes writer Bill Shoemaker observed "McBee's program of boldly lined cookers, poignant ballads, and daring structural statements, elicit consistently strong work from Freeman, Pullen, Moye, trumpeter Joe Gardner, and drummer Allen Nelson. As a soloist, McBee nails everything from fleet blues choruses to wistful lyricism" - Wikipedia

Nodal Excitation
by Arnold Dreyblatt released in 1982 on India Navigation

"Perhaps the most striking aspect of US composer Arnold Dreyblatt’s 1982 album of overtones created via piano strings strung to an upright bass was how hard it rocked. Nodal Excitation never sounded like a dryly academic exercise rather it exerted a physical pull on the listener that was impossible to ignore. Drag City’s newly annotated reissue offered a reminder of the album’s enduring potency. Bill Meyer said: “This album drills to the core of Dreyblatt’s ‘single, subjective experience’."

Pharoah Sanders - "Pharoah" (1976)

I debated whether to get this new box set reissue on Luaka Bop, since I already had another copy. I'm glad I got it.

The sound is great, and the box is really nicely done. Textured box cover, gatefold lp jacket, with an added live lp of Harvest Time from 1977. It also comes with a glossy 23-page insert with photos and interviews, and lots of additional nick-nacks.
