Just did a preliminary prep of my 1040/540 returns in
#TurboTax

I have a very uncomplicated return. Just a matter of filling in the boxes.
I owe much less than expected. 😊

I always owe money. So, there's no point in filing early.

The tax penalties on the money owed is minimal & I will file the returns by mail with a check when due on 4/15/2026.

I file by mail & pay by check because I think the IRS should be required to put in some effort to get my $ by processing my return by hand.

I also shouldn't be penalized by losing any interest on funds paid and the longer it takes the IRS to submit the check for payment the less $ that I lose on the float.

#Taxes . . .

Already received a 1099 for 2025 from the #SSA & because I got a #CatchUp payment after years of being denied full SSA payments because I was a government retiree, I'm looking at a bigger income # from them.

I also received substantially more dividend income from other investments last year & received a bonus trust payment.

So, I'm expecting a very big Fed/State tax bill for 2025. ☹️

I'm doing ok & don't have a problem with paying taxes per se but it bother's me when I have to pay more in #IncomeTaxes than #Billionaires (who can shelter most if not all of their income) do. 🤷‍♂️
