There's been a lot of turnover in our neighbourhood (dead-end street of about 22 houses) in the last few years, and with almost every sale the new folks take down at least one beautiful old tree, usually more. I'm having a really hard time feeling welcoming toward my new neighbours.

#Willow #Trees are one of my fave tree species. I especially enjoy seeing them 'dance' on windy days. There's several huge ones in #ColquitzRiver park in #Wsanec / #Saanich to admire & rest underneath.

Si j'étais un végétal, je serais... une haie d'aubépine bordant un chemin vicinal. Les gens se reposeraient dans mon ombre, échangeraient des secrets, des amoureux s'embrasseraient sous le couvert de mes branches parfumées et l'on récolterait mes fleurs et mes fruits pour faire des tisanes apaisantes ou des confitures. Sans parler de la beauté simple de mes fleurs. Puis en vieillissant je deviendrais un arbre magnifique.
