coincidence?
coincidence?
@pluralistic thus I coined the term "#TechLiteracy" (or lack thereof as "#TechIlliteracy").
Thus I see it as both moral and social duty to spread "Tech-Literacy" among society because decades of #illiteracy in #tech are now paying dividends and #Cyberfascists actively work on sabotaging and destroying #HumanRights and #CivilRights under #FalsePretenses lile "#YouthProtection" (see "#AgeVerification")…

@GrahamDowns Possibly, the reasons of such behaviour are described in this blogpost: https://fireborn.mataroa.blog/blog/the-slow-death-of-the-power-user/
Big tech invested a lot to make people illiterate and unable to ask help from another people. If at 90s someone met a requirement "open the console and run this command to make XYZ", in the README, then (s)he perform this action because (s)he knows how the things work. Or ask some friends — definitely there will be some nerd, sleeping with "K&R C" under the pillow 😃
Then nowadays, possibly the mostly expected scenario — well-learned behaviour — a lot of ramblings in the so-called "social networks" about how programmers "gatekeeping" users from using the programs 🤷♂️
Nice to know our commerce secretary would flunk a basic test on percentages:
No one should ever take an American seriously. They quite literally have the cognitive capacity of children.
- "The Literacy Project reports that the average American reads at a 7th to 8th-grade level."
- "Over half of American adults (54%) read below a sixth-grade level."
- "Almost 1 in 5 adults reads below a third-grade level, showing significant gaps in reading ability."

@vkc also #teach others more #TechLiteracy.
We need to eradicate #TechIlliteracy (& #MediaIlliteracy!) the same way #Illiteracy in henersl gets fought against!
These 'patriots' can't even write their country's official language proficiently.
Marcie Jones quotes an illiterate tweet (redundant to put "illiterate" before "tweet" in his case, I know) in which the man dispensed medical advice about vaccines to parents of small children. Then she responds:
"Do not take medical advice from someone unable to spell 'HEPATITAS,' mkay?"
