The Grand Hotel

Traveling to the Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island seems as if you step back in time 125 years or so. The hotel was finished the end of the 19th Century, little has changed since. Arriving on Mackinaw Island via boat you are picked up at the dock in a horse drawn carriage. This will then take you the short distance up to the fabulous entrance to the hotel shown here. Petaluma River Sunrise

Petaluma River Sunrise,
Out on Lakeville Highway there is an old steakhouse/marina just south of Petaluma.
I captured this early on a fall day and the sun was coming up over the hills of the East Bay hills throwing some beautiful colors over the hills to the south of the Petaluma River. There is a slight breeze so the river reflects a scattered yellow. Tillamook Bay

While traveling through Oregon in I camped out near the small town of Tillamook. I didn't have too much time the afternoon I came in but I did spend some time exploring in the morning.
Of course, like I usually do, I spent some time walking down along the ocean and Tillamook Bay.
I really liked what you see here. See the full image here: https://fineartamerica.com/featured/tillamook-bay-in-the-fog-bill-gallagher.html #AYearForArt #illGallagherPhotography #TillamookBayIntheFog #Oregon #PacificNorthwest #BuyIntoArt #TillamookBay #Fog

Bridalveil Falls in Autumn

During the early spring and most of the summer Bridalveil Falls flows so hard that you can't get close to the base of the falls without getting soaked.
This image was captured during the fall when all of the other waterfalls in the valley had already dried up.
I actually had to scramble up rocks and boulders to get close enough for this shot. See the full image here: https://fineartamerica.com/featured/bridalveil-falls-in-autumn-bill-gallagher.html #AYearForArt #illGallagherPhotography #BridalveilFallsinAutumn #Yosemite

Sonoma Valley Creek

I was hiking in the Sonoma Valley Regional Park in late winter/early spring after some pretty good rains.
Many creeks and streams such as this are dry by mid summer. I was lucky to come up to this park when I did as this little jewel was running fairly strong. The lush green hills in the background and the moss covered rocks on the banks seemed perfect. Yosemite Falls Digital Watercolor

Yosemite Falls Digital Watercolor.
One of my favorite views in the country when the falls are running in the early spring.
As the snow melts in the higher elevations the water filters into Yosemite Creek high above the valley floor.
This is my digital interpretation of what Yosemite Falls would look like if I could paint with water colors. See the full image here: https://fineartamerica.com/featured/yosemite-falls-digital-watercolor-bill-gallagher.html #AYearForArt #illGallagherPhotography #YosemiteFallsDigitalWatercolor

McArthur-Burney Falls Creek Black and White
I recently drove up to the northeastern corner of California. About an hour east of Redding is McArthur-Burney State Park with McArthur-Burney Falls.
This is the creek that runs below the falls. The falls and trail along the creek is a relatively short hike, just over a mile. I took my time along the hike and just fell in love with the lighting along the creek. Aspen Abstract II

This image was captured in the Rocky Mountains at the Maroon ells just outside of Aspen Colorado.
This image is looking through an Aspen forest. I wanted to give it a mystical look as that is the way I felt as I hiked through this magnificent forest.
