I took this pic on Oct 30th, 2023, a few weeks after the Gaza Genocide started.

Independent Jewish Voices Montreal, along with a few others, staged a stand-in at Liberal MP David Lametti's (former minister of justice and attorney general of Canada) office to protest Israeli atrocities done on Palestinian civilians while the Canadian govt turned a blind eye.

I arrvied 30 minutes after Montreal cops shut the non-violent protest down...

On the next CKMS #CommunityConnections, Monday 27 January 2025 at 11:00am (EST) I'll be interviewing two representatives from Independent Jewish Voices of #WaterlooRegion for the International Day in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust. We'll talk about why remembering the holocaust is especially important today, the #IJV and their activism, and we'll certainly talk about #Palestinian freedom.

Unfortunately, even after me requesting him to release the source, the author of the #IJV firmware for the #quansheng UV-K5 has decided to release it with a non-free/closed source firmware licence. I find this so un-ham.

This week, members of the Montreal chapter of Independent Jewish Voices (IJV) travelled to Ottawa to protest a conference against anti-semitism. IJV protesters say this conference is equating anti-semitism to anti-Zionism, which they believe normalizes the genocide of Palestinians. ‘Antisemitism: Face It, Fight It’ was the first large-scale conference hosted by the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) inviting Canada’s Jewish community to address and fight antisemitism. It was hosted in the Shaw Centre in Ottawa on Oct. 16 and 17. When asked for a comment on IJV’s statement on this conference, CIJA associate director Henry Lovgren said told CUTV, “There’s no question that a strong connection to Israel is central to global Jewish identity.
