2025 IIIF Implementation Survey

Are you researching, experimenting with, or fully supporting IIIF at your institution? Please help the IIIF Community better understand how IIIF is being adopted across institutions by completing this quick survey. We are asking all adopters, those planning on implementing IIIF, service providers, and consultants to respond--please share with anyone who might be interested. Feel free to forward this survey to others who may also have details to share. The aim of this survey is to: - Get current data on current usage of IIIF; - Understand the levels of implementation for the different IIIF APIs; - Identify topics for future workshops and training opportunities. Most questions in this survey are optional, so please skip those that are not applicable or for which you don't have answers. The deadline for completion is 31st December. The results will be shared at the 2026 Online Meeting, taking place January 27-29, 2026. - IIIF Staff and Ambassadors

The Call for Proposals for the 2026 #IIIF Online Meeting is OPEN.

@Pyb @iiif

#IMMARKUS feature alert: when you import a #IIIF manifest, IMMARKUS now automatically imports any existing annotations (embedded or referenced) into your workspace.

We'd love to test with more real-world data. If you know of IIIF collections that include (lots of!) annotations, please let us know. Annotated manifests still seem pretty rare in the wild.

This is a great French-language guide for configuring Omeka-S as an #IIIF platform: https://vade-mecum-iiif.omeka.fr/
I have an incomplete draft post for my blog that has been sitting around for a year, as well as a Docker image. Maybe I will resurrect them.

What are you doing about bots swarming your GLAM website or IIIF collections? Pros and cons of different approaches? What does this mean for open content? #MuseTech

IIIF Community

IIIF is a set of open standards for delivering high-quality, attributed digital objects online at scale. It’s also an international community developing and implementing the IIIF APIs. IIIF is backed by a consortium of leading cultural institutions.

"Soms is een goed werkend compromis waardevoller dan een technisch perfect maar mogelijk onhaalbaar ideaal."

Met die conclusie sluit ik een nieuwe blogpost af over de start van een nieuw avontuur: hoe zet ik mijn 40 jaar oude collectie van boekband stempel wrijfsels online via de nieuwste technologieën.
