I was late to the R.E.M party, having only listened to the odd tune here and there. That changed when I took the time to listen to Fables of the Reconstruction with no distractions. So, for the #TuneTuesday prompt #IGetItNow, I should go with that whole album.

But not so fast! The first tune of theirs I remember getting into was Begin the Begin, which high school bandmates forced me to learn for a reunion on winter break of freshman year. It's my favorite memory of playing with those guys.

Couple of friends are Sleep Token fans. I'd never heard of them, despite them having a huge fan base. I asked them to give me one song to listen to,they both said this one in unison. For #TuneTuesday #IgetItNow

The #TuneTuesday theme today is - #IGetItNow - A song that made you finally understand why an artist is so good

I’d only heard a couple of PJ Harvey tracks and really didn’t care for her big hit, Down By the Water, but I then heard this album. It all clicked for me and now she’s my favorite artist. I also love that her opening track on the album is called Big Exit

The #TuneTuesday theme this week is #IGetItNow: songs that help you understand the appeal of an artist (or in this case, a record).

For my pick, I’m going with Jimmy Cliff, “The Harder They Come” from the soundtrack album to the movie of the same name.

I’d been aware of this album for decades but never bothered to listen to it because I couldn’t imagine a soundtrack could be THAT great. But it IS that great. Everything good about reggae condensed into 10 songs.

ive never been a big fleetwood mac fan as ok, yes, rumours is really good but it becomes wildly repetitive at times, particularly since most of the songs have been sold for, ugh, commercials.

during my tenure of being in a long term relationship, i couldn't find music i actually liked until i found this and was listening to a lot of post-punk at the time:

I thought their music was just loud and shouty at first but this one made think "wait a minute, I like this". Which is funny because it's quite a loud and shouty song. I also find it funny that they're singing about being sober, now that I know them 😂 (See MV for lyrics). I think I actually saw the studio Choom performance first.
