Windows tools: png2iff 0.3, IFFView

Dan ‘zooperdan’ Thoresen's IFFView displays IFF-ILBM images under Windows; the program has no external dependencies. The author has also updated his png2iff tool, which converts indexed or 24-bit PNG images to IFF-ILBM format. New in version 0.3:

Gleich 3 Maschinen durch #friendlyfire vom Himmel gefallen?

Früher (vor 50 Jahren) gab es ein #IFF um Derartiges zu verhindern.

IFF = Identification Friend Foe

Kommt heute anscheinend nicht mehr zum Einsatz oder funktioniert nicht so gut.

It is just plain wrong to treat them with any #respect!

  • And if you like me believe in #HumanRights and #CivilRights you don't treat them any different than someone publicly announcing that they want to kill you and your loved ones once they'd have a chance of getting away with such an attempt!

@daarin yes, or it could be triggered by just someone else delivering stuff.

  • These "Parcel Bombs" don't have any #IFF mechanisms per design and even if I'm shure that having something activate within a dozen meters and/or seconds would be too error prone given that GPS 's CEP under cover by a building is magnitutes greater.

It's just a legal liability, and espechally shooting paint at people will have crossed the line.

  • Cuz for comparison, those colour tags that explode on stolen clothes don't explode like fireworks, but merely crack loudly like someone dropped a wine glass...

Graphics converter: iff2png 1.3
"amigazen project" has released a command line tool to convert IFF images to PNG format. iff2png supports all major IFF image formats including ILBM, PBM, RGBN, RGB8, DEEP, ACBM, YUVN and FAXX. It automatically selects the optimal profile for the PNG file based on the properties of the source file. At least AmigaOS 3.1 is required.
