Whelp.
Went to my first con! Indy Fur Con 2024! I had registered to go last year, but got a cold right before the con and ended up staying home. It wasn't that bad of a cold, but who wants to be Patient 0 of a Con Crud pandemic?
I had about 40 hours of time at the con, and I did the best I could with it! Met lots of great people, roomed with the right folks, and did the stuff I wanted to do! Since it was my first con, I met a lot of folks who I hadn't met before IRL, but who I knew from tg chats. Con-time is a weird thing, it moves both fast and slow, and there are some people who I didn't connect with and wanted to, or who I met in passing and wished we could hang out a bit more. But, I had plenty of diaper changies, enough spicy time, and even won a good amount of Poofy Pins in a raffle :3.
There was an ADBL panel at the con: Little Paws Preschool! The organizers had set up different activities in different corners, and I got to do things like watch Bluey and color with other babs! There was also a Bingo fursuiter who I saw in the parade and who was at the panel and I got pictures with. AMAZING experience
The weirdest thing is that I didn't end up with Post-Con Depression, but rather Post-Con Self-Actualization. Like, I am a furry ABDL, and I went to this con and met other Babs. I pretty much did what I set out to do; all is well in the world.
I will say that at the end of con, I was exhausted in a way that I had never been before. It was like my brain was running on one singular processing unit (instead of 100 or whatever the normal number is lol). I stopped a third of the way home and found a spot to get some snacks/coffee/nap (spoiler alert: a normie friend's place).
Just thought I'd ramble about it a bit here. Idk. That was my first con, and it was a great one! Looking forward to IFC25, and whatever other cons I may go to!
