Giovanni - ZL2GX@NH6SP Excellent choice! Nice audio and has transmit tone controls too - useful for tweaking your audio.
A tip: holding down the Cent/Fix button reveals a mode I'd wanted but didn't realise existed: it scrolls the cursor across the waterfall rather than the default scrolling the waterfall and leaving the cursor fixed in the center. This mode is really nice for displaying a 50KHz section of the band during contests.

KI7CFOThe #hamradio #CQWW is largely a bust for me. Solo op and 8hrs scattered over 3 sessions and I have a total of 40 contacts. Bleach. Now we did have a rain storm over night and this morning. FT8 showed that propagation was horrible, so that could be it. But dang if that isn't discouraging. Could hear many ops but couldn't get them to hear me. #ic7300 and 100W on an end fed random draped over my house roof ~30ft AGL.
@kb6nu One trap that got me several times with the #IC7300 with Ubuntu-Mate was that while audio to the computer worked, I had to set the volume from the computer to the radio way over 100% otherwise the transmit power level was only about 5W.
It turned out the 7300 needs to the in USB-D (data) mode for the computer audio to be routed in the radio correctly. I'd had it in USB (upper sideband) - not USB-D.
As soon as I set it to USB-D, the transmit power was fine. The 7610 may be similar ...

KE0FFTOne of next week’s #HamRadioGoals will be to stop just talking about it & get some form of #FT8 -ish comms up & running. (The somewhat conversational variety that lets you type almost free-flow is the one I’ll be after.) I have an #IC7300 that has seen very little use & a small Gateway notebook that I think will be sufficient.
