Anyone experienced with iventoy pxe boot server?

2 laptops saved today - ACER ASPIRE E15 - Lenovo IDEAPAD 100 15BD The ACER kept saying "no bootable device" after install and there were lots of advice as to that ... but none worked ... until I found one telling me that UEFI is flawed on that machine, so I should try legacy boot. That didit. The ideapad wouldn't let me configure USB boot and I had some trouble to get an iventoy PXE Boot server working, but finally ... :-) 1/2

Stop using #Ventoy, now !

A BLOB (Binary Large Object) is a data type used to store large binary data and is located within a program or library. It can be anything: dll, drivers /sys, plugins, firmware, multimedia, etc.

Ventoy Security Concerns

While very useful in theory, the source tree contains numerous binary blobs without source code. This issue has been brought up to the authors multiple times, have not been corrected, and have even gotten worse (more blobs have been added to the code over time). This is a potential malware vector, similar to the “test files” in the xz-utils backdoor catastrophe… Very worrying!

Leur étude révèle des réalités ahurissantes:
- ajouts/modif de blobs propriétaires
- drivers #linux modifié
- ajout certificats autosignés
... sources jamais publiées malgré les demandes répétées des #libristes

So I finally managed to set up my #homelab server again after moving. #Proxmox, #pihole and #samba is plenty enough for me for now.
However, since I already made a Samba share with backups for my laptops so I don't need external drive... Why not set up a #pxe netboot server...?
And so I did. #iventoy came in handy, dropped a few ISOs on the Samba share and now I don't need either external drive for backups nor USB stick with Clonezilla on it. Just an ethernet cable!
