really thrilled for all the great presentations and people at #ipres2026 this year!!! for me, ipres is the biggest digital preservation thing of the year. it's like all-the-holidays in an encrypted file on a floppy disk level of fun!

#iPRES2026 reviews were returned, I'll be talking about
* Core Preservation Processes, in a workshop and a full-length presentation, with @mickylindlar and co-authors;
* Elaborating format policies for digital painting and webcomic, with a case study of archiving the art of the wonderful @davidrevoy, written with @AlixB

picking #dp3 out of the long "stuff-i-did-today-list":

- management meeting on programme budget
- presenting the survey findings in a 1-hr EOSC EDEN webinar together with the always amazing @LM_HATII
- talking #ipres2026 with the papers & panels subcommittee

3 different meetings which appeared to be 3 different worlds. life has been a roller-coaster.

*Call for Submissions to the #ipres2026 Great Digital Preservation Bake-Off (no baking included! only tool-demos!) is now open!*

Submission via short form is open until june 8. We're sticking to the 2-track system: "Signature home bake" for practitioners whose main job isn't necessarily sw development & "Showstopper Pro Bake" for sw devs & vendors.

@p3ter I am looking into trying #ImageMagick for this, although I still need a recipe for 4.0 to 6.0.

I'm most wondering if it's OK to archive them as-is.

I'll try to get some clean ones I can share, but it might take a week or so. I might even offer one or two for the #iPRES2026 #digipresbakeoff

Resurfacing after months of absence, because of physical health issues leading to mental health issues, exacerbated by huge amounts of stress at work because of 10+ years #DigiPres project. Said project reached a huge milestone at the beginning of December on test environments, only to take 2 1/2 month of additional debugging when nothing worked on "exact same config" production environments... Trying to write an #iPRES2026 paper by the end of the week now to exorcise it all... Wish me luck!
