This is pretty cool.

MS-DOS 2.0 on the Apple IIe (March 2026)

An Apple II enthusiast ported MS-DOS 2.0 to an Apple IIe running an ALF AD8088 Plus 8088 card (a much simpler device than the PC Transporter) designed for CP/M-86.

It boot, supports 80-columns, reads the clock, reads disk data from a shared ProDOS file on the IIe's hard disk.

Stated plans from the author, Seth Kushniryk, include Super Serial and Uthernet II support as well as running CP/M-80 on MS-DOS on ProDOS with a V20 swapped in for the 8088.

I've now also completed part 2 of "Factory" - Day 10 of #AdventOfCode in #TurboPascal on the #Xi8088 !

It takes about 25 minutes to run and was quite the challenge to write, I had to learn more than I was prepared to.

But with it, that's all 12 days completed, all in #Pascal, all on the #i8088.

So I found an interesting laptop named #Book8088 on #AliExpress.
According to the description and reviews, it's a 80s' #i8088 (V20 to be exact) based #MS-DOS laptop but brand-new and in production!
I would have bought one if I were in that generation.
