Anyone know to remove hyperlinks in iOS Notes?

User Guide: In your notes, an underline appears below text that’s recognized as a street or email address, phone number, date, or other data
It does not not say how to disable this. Long press on the numbers gives menu with option for Remove Link but that doesn’t do it. It looks like it works at first. But the link returns.
