89. St. Bride's

🧠 I'm possibly being a bit repetitive with another 'leading lines with a nice building at the end' shot 😊. I do love this view though.

⭐ Because of the shaded area in the centre, it looks like the church is at the end of the path but there's actually a little park there, then it's up the stairs and across a busy road to get to the church.

➡️ Maybe should have tried to avoid the intense shadow...

83. Light Trails

🧠 I was hoping to get a bus but got fed up waiting so made do with the cars passing by, as well as getting J to walk back and forward!

⭐I'm pleased with the car light streaks and repeated wheel alloy pattern! I'm also quite chuffed the rest is so crisp. I had the camera hanging round my neck and resting against my abdomen with the wee screen popped up to use instead of the viewfinder.

➡️ It's maybe a bit busy. I cut off the top of the tunnel which had given surround framing because there was too much that was distracting. I think if I'd captured a bus the full height could've worked.

80. Asylum

🧠 This is part of the view out our back windows. I always thing the old Gartnavel Royal building looks good framed by the modern houses closer to us.

⭐ I think the way the light hits the old hospital and the nearer house bricks to highlight them looks good.

➡️ I thought I could've gone more dramatic with the sky but it ends up looking unnatural.

A relatively stripped-back Art Deco style bank building on Hyndland Road in the West End of Glasgow. Built in 1934, it was created by James Mclachlan. I particularly like the design of the windows, which seem to let a lot of light in (or, in the case of this photo, out).

75. Cafe

🧠 First time using a new lens and I just had a quick shot near the flat. I thought the Hyndland Cafe would make a nice subject for the scope of the new lens (50mm equivalent).

⭐I like the monochrome of the cafe in the context of red sandstone flats, plus green plants in front.

➡️ The quality is much better when not compressed by insta! I know the composition isn't particularly interesting.

One of the the two arched bellcotes of John Honeyman's 1881 Classical Renaissance Church on Westbourne Gardens in the west end of Glasgow. I love the shape it makes against the sky.
