"I'll Fly Away"(#Roud 18437) is a #hymn written between 1929 and 1932 by #AlbertEBrumley and published in 1932 by the Hartford Music company in a collection titled Wonderful Message. Albert took three years to write the song after getting the idea while #pickingCotton in 1928. Over the years multiple derivative versions have been created and will be licensed for decades to come. Brumley's writing was influenced by the 1924 secular #ballad "#ThePrisonersSong".

Béla Fleck, Renée Fleming and even Dolly Parton. This is great! My advice: ignore — skip — the politicized debacle in DC (such a shame that this nation's 250th celebration is tainted by the 🟠 🤡 & his ilk), and listen to this — great musicians and great Americans, all.

I am reminded of the classic #hymn, “How firm a foundation” you saints of the Lord. Zhané isn’t saying don’t question. She is saying question from a firm #foundation. No one explores without having a place to return to. #testimony #Martyria #questioneverything
"When the Saints Go Marching In", often referred to as simply "The Saints", is a traditional #AfricanAmericanSpiritual. It originated as a Christian #hymn, but is often played by #jazz bands. One of the most famous jazz recordings of "The Saints" was made on May 13, 1938, by #LouisArmstrong and his orchestra. The song is sometimes confused with a similarly titled 1896 composition: "When the Saints Are Marching In", by #KatharinePurvis (lyrics).

“The Last Mile of the Way” by Johnson Oatman, Jr. ✨

“If I walk in the pathway of duty,
If I work till the close of the day,
I shall see the great King in His beauty,
When I’ve gone the last mile of the way.”
