#Hyacinthoides cultivar, Bluebells, against an out-of-focus background of yellow-green #Hakonechloa macra, Japanese Forest-grass, and more bluebells. The Hyacinthoides we have here - which are weedy and somwhat invasive - are most likely a complex hybrid of garden origin, impossible to tell apart without genetic analysis. But pretty :)

The early purple #orchid contingent was putting on a wonderful show alongside the #bluebells (and the last of the #primroses) in this classic Cornish #hedgerow earlier #today.

I recall that these orchids were very rare hereabouts during my #1970s childhood. Improved hedgerow management, decreased pesticide use, and an improved general awareness of these gorgeous plants really seems to have made a difference 💚
