Finally the first of the shrubs are opening their buds and carefully showing the first leaves. The trees, however, are still in a winter mood and not showing yellows, greens or reds. They are showing off their great narlene branches. Against the backdrop of slightly lighter trees, it works great to see only the main character in this picture.

Perhaps you already know the #Netherlands is as flat as a #pancake. Yet this photo was not taken in #austria or #switzerland or even #Iceland. What you see in this photo is actually a waste mountain. A the moment I took this shot, they still used it, but allready made preparations to make it a recreational place. It already hosted several cycling races, like the Dutch championship in 2020 and 2022, the European championship cycling in 2023, the Tour of Holland in 2025, several MTB-races and national sprintraces, and many more to come.
It was bloody cold back then, with low temperatures and hard wind. I try to make the picture with that feeling. The scenery works well with it.

Sometimes there's not much interesting to photograph. But by still going out, you can find some new compositions to remember to come back for. For me, this is that kind of shot. For now it's not really interesting, but it could be in the right circumstances.

Currently, there's a huge difference in temperature in the Netherlands. The region where I live is below zero degrees and in the south it is already 9 degrees and feels almost like spring. A temperature difference of more than 10 degrees in just over 200 km. So they probably can't understand how I could make a photo like this today

In the north of the Netherlands we consistently got a cold stream of cold and clouds coming from the cold east. We barely saw the sun in January. And now the snow has already melted away, taking pictures during a cloud-covered sky is really hard. So all the light I can get, and put this in the picture. It was really, really hard to get this picture to work. Do you agree?

At some moments I got lucky. Moments like this are extremely rare in the Netherlands. But when the circumstances are right and you're at the right moment on the spot, you can find these unique sceneries Often the sun will melt the rime within an hour or so. Therefore, I took this image just after sunrise. Cold outside, but warm on the inside with this picture. :)

The winter had officially begun, along with temperatures in the double digits. How bizar is that! Personally, I'll always find it hard to make landscape photos; therefore, the colours in the sky are my most beloved friend. On this particular morning I could take a stunning sky with a dead tree as a picture. The whole surroundings were colored because of the reflections from the sky. Let's hope it's going to be a great winter with a lot of potential.
