🧵 The humpback did not take the exit into Wismar Bay. It kept floating in shallow water.
People were frantically digging a tube in the sand - because normal sea level is 50 cm at this spot. Now the 160 cm high whale is floating in a tube.

When I opened the livestream this morning and the whale was swimming ❤️ I had the impression it was playing with the boats ‘You try to block me, well I dive underneath you. I go north.’

The #humpback was very fast swimming (9-13 kmh) and up to 8 boats and jet sky tried to guide him south.

Now it is floating near the entrance to Kirchsee and everybody hopes that ‘Hope‘ will take the exit into Wismar Bay tonight.

He seems to insist going north. But has to go south first to not get stuck again.

Rescue was canceled yesterday because of very high tide. Today it is stormy and still high tide. That's the reason why he could swim free.
