Let’s have fun with translation from the real menu near my future home in #Hsinchu, #Taiwan.

My wife says that the Chinese characters would literally translate as “Crispy Smells Good 7 Miles Away” (Approx), but the English “translation” calls it “Crispy Chicken Ass”

What is it actually?

It’s chicken ass.

Family meeting today just about cinched it. Looks like we’re moving to #Hsinchu #Taiwan next school year.

(Barring any unexpected gotchas.)

I suspect for foreigners, #Hsinchu #Taiwan must be a bit of a hard sell. Unlike Taipei, it has no subway system, and the public busses aren’t well-regarded, plus it’s a much smaller city, with less to do, and less places to get things you might be familiar with back home.

It’s no joke that the first pitch potential employers are making when trying to say how good Hsinchu is, “we’ve got a #Costco.”
