Part 9 of How to wear your shawl and the last one. At least until I learn new techniques in shawl wrapping. :D

Fold the shawl in half and lay it across the back of your neck. Tug the ends through the loop and arrange to your liking.

Part 8 of How to wear your shawl. This one became my favourite this past winter. Lay a short end from behind across your shoulder, then wrap the shawl around the back of your shoulder/neck, across the front and across the back again. That brings the second end around to your front, with the first end being under the shawl, and the second on top. Tie them together and you're good to go.

Part 7 of How to wear your shawl. Wrapped around your hips as a pareo at the beach or swimmingpool. Probably works best with a shawl made from Cotton or Cotton/Polyacryl blend and not wool. :-)

Part 6 of How to wear your shawl. Tying and wrapping into a Hood. Now, that is actually really practical for those chilly winterdays when you forgot to bring a hat. Or to cover that little bit of exposed neck from the wind.

Part 5 of How to wear your shawl. Tying into a bolero by pulling the ends under your arms and tying in the back. My body is too wide to cross the ends in front, but I can tye the ends in the back, a bit like an apron. It also gets the ends out of the way and I have the hands free to work.

Part 4 of How to wear your shawl. Crossing the ends over the bust and tied in the back. See second picture for the back, you could pull down the shawl a bit to hide the knot.

Part 3 of How to wear your shawl. Bandit-Style, my favourite. Tip in front, the ends crossed behind your neck. Effortlessly thrown on and comfy.

Part 2 of How to wear your shawl. Pin one end to your shoulder to help keeping the shawl in place. You can use a specifically made shawl pin, a brooch... or some hairaccessories like a barrette or hairpin. I really like the latter, because either you still have some hairpins lying around or you can usually get them very easily and inexpensively from your preferred supermarket or drugstore.

When I first started to crochet and became obsessed with making shawls I asked myself - How do I wear my shawls? Very quickly fellow crafters directed me to Stephen Wests Video "How to wear your shawl" and I think it's hilarious.

Now - I'm not a video person, but I figured why not start a little series on ideas how to wear your shawl! Besides - I finally got a Tailor's Bust and want to use it. LOL
I'm going to do this with my beloved half-circle that gets lots of wear.
Part One - the simplest of the simple. To quote Stephen: "You put it on - BOOM! You are wearing a shawl!"
Drape the shawl around you and toss one of the ends dramatically over your shoulder. I personally love the dramatic toss - It makes me feel like a diva of old times. :D
