Dear Fediverse community, Do you like to have compartmentalized Fediverse accounts for various things you do or are interested in? (Text-based posts for Mastodon, photos for Pixelfed, etc). Or do you prefer one account to try to do it all? Also, what are the benefits or drawbacks of each? I’ve tried both ways myself, but would appreciate anyone who is willing to offer their two cents! Thanks in advance!

If you don't want strangers to interact with your post some, change the privacy setting from public.
Works just like lowering your voice in a public space.

If thou shout, everyone can hear thou, and assumes that thou art shouting to be heard.
This is a friendly assumption of competence and intentionality; Clearly, those who aren't shouting to be heard are using Unlisted and Followers Only setting.

The Windows Club

I see people doing cool things to create communities with special interests on Mastodon.

Look at these examples:

1) A bot delivering #LawFedi content into a single feed

2) promoting the use of an hashtag and creating an group via gup.pe:

Alaskan Social

Thank you to everyone who responded to my earlier post about #howtouseMastodon.

I noticed I can #followhashtags, so hopefully that will help as well.

Sorry for my earlier outburst. And again, #ThankYou.

Still checking if ANYONE is using this #Mastodon thing.

I know this isn't #twitter but every time I use Mastodon, it feels like I'm standing in middle of #DeathValley, watching #Tumbleweeds drift.

Can somebody #PLEASE explain to me #howtouseMastodon?

And could you explain it like I'm five?

Thinking about bringing the shutters down on this account. No matter how much I try I just don’t seem to be interacting with anyone on here. #mastodon #help #howtousemastodon
Is there a way on #Mastodon or on #Tusky to mute certain words?
