I am definitely in recovery mode today. I woke up *SUPER LATE* (12:48pm), and have been limping around the times I do get out of my chair. I'd commented to my beloved @moonrabbit that I should expect it, since I overdid it the entire weekend after our declutterer visited, and have been in recovery since.
So of course, this is now the day that house reorg is happening. The eldest wanted their desktop moved upstairs, which we agreed was reasonable. It also means that it gives the younger more space downstairs, which is fair compensation for her having -zero- room in her bedroom (it was a small room to start with, and the previous owner fitted a wardrobe that takes up a third of the room). We're not against getting the wardrobe potentially removed in future... but that requires us to get the stuff we're storing out of it. *laughs*
I am doing Entirely Too Muchโขยฎ today. I really wanted to build on what we did yesterday, and indeed, spouse and I tackled one of the things he needed to do! Which is awesome! His living environs are again improved -- though this time this was the bedroom rather than downstairs. I ended up getting it in mind that I wanted to scrub the fur out of the carpet, so did a section... and yeah, exhausting. Will I do more of it today? I honestly don't know. I'm trying to direct my fragments of energy to trying to push through some of the house chores ahead of that, so.
Currently waiting for my replacement glue to arrive. I look forward to getting my current project off the loom, and starting another one. I wanted to crank out a couple thin bracelets to add to my offerings when I'm at a village fayre later this month. I'm thinking I should get another bead loom, but I'm struggling to find one that is a good length without being 500 miles wide. Anyone have a suggestion?
*goes to lump for a bit*
Decluttering went fairly well. Admittedly, there's still stuff that needs processing, but the big work was done. Spouse now has a fairly tidy half of the lounge, and I put my efforts into other tasks. The downstairs bathroom looks much better, and I've removed a thick layer of candy wrappers from under the childrens' desks.
There is going to be furniture moved around in there at some point now. We'd always planned to remove one segment of desk so youngest had more room//didn't block the walkway so badly. Eldest has now requested to move their desktop upstairs. And while we had committed to a fairly firm 'no tech upstairs' rule, we're stepping back because hey, kid should be able to use their computer, and they also need a big bubble of alone space to deal with life right now. So yeah, we can probably make an exception. Plus, it also means I might gain some bookshelf space, so, win? xD
Right. Caffeine. Lump. Look for my E6000 glue again. I'm sure I have a tube somewhere, and I have a finished bracelet that I need to finish the selvages on. At worst, I've got another tube coming in tomorrow.
I had forgotten again that today is technically my Friday this week. Our declutterer is in tomorrow, so that means I'll be doing... something. The main focus is getting my spouse's area properly reclaimed and sorted for the first time, so certainly that. But also, might make more sense to leave it to spouse and S to sort it out while I like, pick up garbage in the study. We'll see. I always manage to find something that catches my interest.
But yeah, built him a shelf that he'd bought. So that's one thing for tomorrow ticked off.
For now, taking it as easy as possible. My brain has been especially goopy this week. I'm making ridiculously slow progress though the book I bought on bead looming, so between that and the strung loom, my lack of spoons is mocked. xD
Monday progresses as I like it to. My hair is clean, I got an Etsy order in the post, and we have a free-flowing kitchen sink again.
Oh yeah, the kitchen sink got backed up -- alllllllllllll the way out of the house backed up, ha ha. Our repair guy had already come last week to fix a minor leak in the pipe, and I think we thought it had cleared then. But alas. *laughs* Which means I got to hear some hardcore suction noises as he rodded the drain, which, amusing and probably gross to some ears, but there you go.
Right. Back to lump. And trying to remember to finish my attempted embroidery, ha ha.
I am very much hoping that tomorrow will be the last working day of the year for me. I'm waiting for at least one batch of invoices to process. Spouse thinks they'll come in over the weekend, which, rude, but whatever will be will be (etc).
For Christmas this year, my mother-in-law gave the kids a budget to predominately spend on clothes. Kids opted this year to get me to wrap them and put them under the tree rather than wearing them as they come in, so they have quite a pile this year. I said to youngest a moment ago (upon her noticing more things under the tree) that they hopefully will have the Amazon experience -- ordering something and promptly forgetting what it was, thereby getting a nice surprise.
As for me, my 'surprises' so far are environmental improvements -- namely a new plug tower, and a new USB charging hub. My area feels much nicer for it.
What else... Vivi knocked a few branches off of the Christmas tree (it's artificial), and I put them on the couch for spouse to put back on the tree. So Vivi bedded down in them and took a nap. Fiiiiine, if it keeps you from climbing the damned tree. ๐ Halo has also liked curling up in it, so I made sure to scoot it down the couch so they have that, and my mother-in-law still has a place to sit.
Whew, a bit knackered. The heat pump guys finished their work last night, which means the cupboards they needed to get into needed repacking. I've moved back in the things that need to go in, I think. There's some stuff that is going to go to the tip (council run recycling centre).
(Having said that, we have three ancient suitcases that belonged to spouse's grandparents, and he'd love to find those a home. Might try a charity shop, might try Vinted -- whatever works for him to actually get them out of the house. xD)
What else... slowly remembering to add other programs to my new laptop. I had to email the nice folx at Winstitch to get a download file//proper registration codes. Since I'm a Lifetime member, the response was swift and free. Really, if you're a #crossstitch designer (or diamond painting), it's such a great little program.
