We lost the great Rick Froberg in June of 2023. A great musician who I had the great pleasure of meeting on a few occasions.

The young me grew up on a steady diet of Drive Like Jehu , but I also hold Hot Snakes near and dear, particularly THIS record.

Hot Snakes was just an extension of my adolescent love for DLJ into my twenties.
Delicious, frenzied #artpunk bursts with blazing guitar, all in 3 minutes or less. The album opener, “Braintrust”, is super bad-ass, and has made its way into many mixes/playlists I’ve made for friends.
RIP RICK FROBERG!

I bought a Hot Snakes album that I had missed (Automatic Midnight) the other week, and found out that Rick Froberg passed away last week. It’s really sad news, and I have always enjoyed his music.
