In the greenhouse bed, the romanesco cauliflower bolted so I hacked it to the ground, leaving the roots to avoid disturbing the carrots that might come out next week or so. Partridge sold separately; pear tree in bloom. Last year they were very poor. Any advice on what to do to help them fruit well? The strawberries mostly survived my neglect. Six pots in the greenhouse and only a few plants still struggling. If I'm lucky the slugs won't find them on the potting shelves. Wisteria is in exuberant bloom and still on the old, falling over trellis. All six sunflowers seem well after transplanting if a bit of yellow in their leaves. Peas and beans are getting ready for strings to climb. The three potato beds are at different stages despite similar conditions but all look good, with wispy onions coming up down the middle. Garlic has recovered after I yoinked the fungus, which so far has not returned. Not pictured, the greenhouse is doing well too, and I finished the March direct sow planting today.
