We "backed" Eva yesterday. She took it quite well.

So, after about an hour, Ember finally decides to let Chris do her thing. And the halter is on.
The next step will be to hook her up to a line and teach her to turn and follow. That's looking like next weekend.
How does Ember feel about this? Well, sort of OK until the rope touches her legs. Then defiance turns to panic.

We are getting nothing positive from the first approach, so we move to plan B.
So far, so good.
There is a lot of training happening here at the moment. Lots of horses progressing through various stages.
This short thread is about Ember of the Get Stuffed being halter trained.
Here she is refusing to work with Chris at the "being nice" stage.
We managed to get a photo of Eva once she had calmed down a fraction.
You can get a horse to do all sorts of amazing things in an arena, but that only gets you so far.
Today I took Twiggy and Eva out to see the world.
We saw cars and sheep and working dogs, we even saw a truck. The thing that brought them both undone? Cows.
Twiggy was a bit stressed about them but we should be able to overcome that quickly.
Poor Eva. There is a lot of work in front of us to cross that bridge. Hence no video of her.
Just a short word on filming and riding Twigathy.
