Took my first pottery class and got to make a pinchpot cauldron then raku fired it and applied horsehair to the exterior and calendula petals to the interior. So happy with how it turned out!

Did you ever wonder about former times how #women in #skirts and #dresses survived the formerly still icy winter? Here is a historical skirt from Alsace. The technique is called matelassé because it comes from the production of mattresses (matelas). Similar to #quilting, the skirts were padded and filled with #seaweed or #horsehair. And you can see that this is sewn by hand. Such a long skirt was quite heavy!

Finished embroidery for my friend who owns the rescued mustang mentioned in my previous post. Glad to have it finished because staring at a naked horse butt is weird.
