DamonHDPicked up a few shiny #horseChestnuts including one that fell while I was standing at the tree!
CarolannieOne of the most common older street trees in our neighborhood is the horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum). A tall tree with branches that sweep down to the ground, ithas white flower panicles in spring and clusters of horse chestnuts in fall. The fruit is a green spiky capsule with one or two nuts. These have a rich reddish brown colored shell, and a white fruit that is toxic to everything except squirrels.
