saw this thingy trending, wanna join. am nervous lol.

am a beginner digital artist (bc drawing only for two years in sum, before used fine arts mediums for a year), solo gamedev (very slow as 'tis just a hobby).

i mainly draw fanart of old games n books, my original characters, gifts for ppl.
am also strongly all things about freedom n all-human rights n stuff, basically am radical anarchist, so i obviously rise these topics in my digital content.

my point on art is that it has no rules n is one of the most subjective things out there so should never be restricted in any ways, 'tis a form of feeling and thinking and expressing oneself.

attached artworks are a WIP of HoMM3 fanart, finished HoMM3 fanart, concept art for my own games (that's a whole setting w lost of mini games planned), unfinished 'meet the artist' sketch. my art can be found under #mastoart on my profile, but 'tis basically a blog w lots of rant n stuff so if u wanna follow just my art, i've Tumblr n am on Krita forum. on Tumblr i almost never post sketches n WIPs but i do occasionally upload them into my sketchbook thread on Krita forum.

This is an entry for Krita's monthly art challnge. I hope 'tis forgivable that I will copypaste the text partly from my post on forum... Just fr cant function more for today.

Ouch, surprisingly I managed to finish it in time! I’ve never rendered so much in my life, ‘twas fun but scary xD also chose new style/technique what basically only added difficulties instead of my hopes to make it easier lol.

Ok, I cheated. I decided to hide my faulty rider (I’ve no idea how to draw horses…) behind the magical effects because “5 seconds before” is more like the spell being cast already IMO. At first the idea was of the dragons preparing to cast.

'Tis fanart. These are youngsters (hence no golden scales and smaller “crests” on their necks") of faerie dragons from HoMM3. If you played - you know how nasty they are as opponents, but boy do I absolutely adore them! Being young I suspect they cant yet cast Implosion, but some lightning-related stuff - totally! I bet the rider feels the static lol. So aye, the goal was to show effects of the magical stuff in the middle of the spell being activated and hitting the target, etc etc. I absolutely hated every part of this work before I finished it, yet even having horrible times in general I managed to finish it and even be satisfied! Honestly it became somewhat very personal and important. I planned it long before discovering this month’s theme but then decided to join because the scene seemed to fit in some way.

And aye ‘tis 4000x2480 so I couldnt compress it adequately. I will include the link to the full original file because the resized one lost lots of details which were a great pain to render n I kinda wanna show off lol. Will also attach some screenshots of details in replies.
