I've had family in town so I haven't spent much time in the shop but I did get about 90 minutes today. Started with the truss rod. I taped up the black palm fingerboard trimmed it close with the band saw. When I hit it with the router, bad things happened. The palm turned into a splintery mess no matter how careful I was.

Plan B, slot a piece of purpleheart and start over. I also managed to get it routed for binding and the side bindings on. Turned into a pretty productive hour and a half. I think I like this better anyway. The flame binding, with just a sliver of purple blending with the birdseye is going to be amazing.
