I am by no means a handyman, but I finally replaced the broken blinds in the bathroom. My wife and I would occasionally peek into the backyard without pulling the blinds up and they started breaking one by one. My wife voiced her concerns about being seen in the bathroom since we tend to shower at night.

Of course this "30 min" setup took over an hour for me. Sadly I couldn't reuse the hardware already installed, so I had to take down the old and measure out where the new supports were going. The brackets could be in or out window and I installed them the wrong way twice, which I only discovers after my confusion why the new blinds wouldn't attach. I had to redrill the holes for the screws too. And the final result is a tad uneven toward one side.

These are cordless blinds so now we have no excuse to lift them up when we want to look out.

Home wireless upgrade project time! Migrating off of old-school Apple Airport Extremes (x3) to Unifi 802.11ac Pro Access Points (x2) *they’re the slightly older WiFi 5’s. I have the controller running in docker & I’m very impressed with the performance, features and range of these things! Also from not having to use some cloud-based account for the install. Now to complete the placement & mounting. #wireless #networking #wifi #unifi #homeproject #nerdtime
Getting there. I think I’m going to scrub it down and paint it black before putting on the surface materials. #garden #pottingbench #diy #homeproject
Did some framing in my basement today; tried out my new Milwaukee framing nailer. This thing KICKS ASS. I’ve done everything you see here with less than a single charge on one battery. Compare this to the energy used by a pneumatic air nailer - it’s probably 1/100th the electricity of running an air compressor. #Building #Construction #HomeProject #DIY #PowerTools
