Here's today's post from my fine art #Pixelfed account, one of the successful images I made with a homemade cardboard box camera. Ridiculous that it worked at all, but I did get some interesting results.

Subconscious Flowers (2020) So, I once made an 8x10 box camera out of cardboard. :-) The particulars are slipping away due to my poor memory, but I think I used a lens borrowed from my 4x5 and a dark slide as a jerry-rigged, hand-operated shutter. Two telescoping boxes, so you could move the lens toward or away from the back for focusing, where I taped a piece of darkroom paper as a negative. The interior was spray painted black. Focusing was hit and miss, and I abandoned the contraption pretty quickly. I did get 3-4 interesting, surreal images out of it, though. I'll post the others soonish. #darkroom #blackandwhite #altprocess #homeMadeCamera #papernegative
