@sodiboo Technology has no volition, it can't be cool or not. It wasn't technology that was cool, it was always that the TransFurryHackers that were cool. That the moneysick were posing as cool people (and they convinced the moneysick poser media) is really just another part of their sickness.
The "500 channel universe" was never supposed to be owned/intermediated by these morons. That happened because: NAT44, Windows-too-unsafe-to-use, Incumbent-Telco-want-eyeballs-not-citizens. #ipv6 #homehosting

@bash_org у меня когда-то была вполне серьёзная идея сделать #homehosting на старом мобильнике Meizu с 3 Гб оперативки (тогда сайты крутились на VDS с 512 Мб всего). Но до реализации так и не дошло.

@theluddite @tinyrabbit You *can* host a website at home without a static IP address. I run my little site https://cmacleod.me.uk on an "upcycled" old PC at home, connected via a Cloudflare "Zero Trust" Tunnel - https://developers.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-one/connections/connect-networks/ - on their free tier, I only paid a few pounds to register the domain. This does not require a static IP, or even opening any incoming ports on your router. #homehosting

Not sure if this issue is only prevalent to me but my Libreddit / Redlib instance keeps going down every 24 hours - causing me having to setup a cronjob for it to restart every 24 hours. Not entirely sure if this issue only happens for the Dockerized version but I remembered a loooooooooooong time ago when I had libreddit installed as source, the downtime was a lot less. Anyone having this issue?

Finally got around to upgrading my Ubuntu 18.04 home server to 20.04 last night. The upgrade went fairly smooth, though #nextcloud decided that it wasn't happy with that idea and refused to start (only application on the box to have issues). After an hour of trying to figure out what the hell was going on, I ran the occ repair command and all of a sudden it was happy again. No idea what caused the issue though, but I'll try a 22.04 upgrade later. #Homeservers #dev #homehosting
