Anybody out there an #EV owner with a #NACS port that has suggestions for cheap 40A level 2 portable chargers? I was going to car camp in Michigan next weekend and charge up to 100% if I could, but my budget is a measly $150 and I'm seeing most decent ones at $300+ sadly.

And yesterday I ordered an #AnkerSolix #BalkonSolar set intending to get some of the #HomeCharging done using the sun.

For the time being I just ordered a set trying not to go into nerd mode. I’m starting with 4 panels / 2.000 W and ~5 kWh battery storage. I think I’ll have to learn how this works and what I need for storage and management.

Post-vacation assessment: I ended up paying an average of 0.55 EUR/kWh for utilizing public EV charging networks. By selecting the right app I reduced my fee but in reality the overall expense was in the same range of what I would have paid for gasoline with an #ICE car. Seems we are already at the point of paying for energy what we were paying at gas stations. #HomeCharging appears to me the only way for #BEV s to be cost competitive.
