It's So Hard to Tell Who's Going to Love You the Best is the debut album by American folk blues musician Karen Dalton, originally released in 1969 by Capitol Records

The album was subsequently reissued on CD by the Koch label in 1997. Extended liner notes were written by Peter Stampfel of the Holy Modal Rounders, who writes:

She was the only folk singer I ever met with an authentic 'folk' background. She came to the folk music scene under her own steam, as opposed to being 'discovered' and introduced to it by people already involved in it." - Wikipedia

This isn't the Clamtones but #TheFlyByNiteJassBand, a nutty early 70s Portland-based #jugband revival act with ties to the #HolyModalRounders, who were then living & gigging locally on the same circuit. They only ever issued an obscure 7" EP that I'd love to hear someday. Hey #PDX people: ever see/hear anything more about these goofballs?

Earth Music is the second studio album by the American rock band the Youngbloods, released in 1967...

Cover songs on the album include "Euphoria", a song originally done by the Holy Modal Rounders and written by George "Robin" Remailly (who later became a member of the Rounders). ...The Youngbloods version of "Sugar Babe" was included in the soundtrack album for Michelangelo Antonioni's 1970 film Zabriskie Point.

In a retrospective review for Allmusic, Lindsay Planer calls the album "a blend of captivating songwriting with an infectiously fun delivery" and feels that there are "a handful of equally definitive sides scattered throughout Earth Music." - Wikipedia

The Holy Modal Rounders 2 is the second studio album by the folk duo the Holy Modal Rounders, released in 1965 through Prestige Records.

The Holy Modal Rounders 2 Review by Stewart Mason

...Like the musicians collected on Harry Smith's Anthology of American Folk Music, the Holy Modal Rounders mixed traditional folk music and the artifacts of their particular circumstances (in their case, life among the junkies and freaks in post-Beat, pre-hippie Greenwich Village) into a unique and idiosyncratic blend that could have only come from these two people at this particular time. ...strangeness and mystery, along with raucous good humor, is at the heart of American folk music."
