There are some funny moments though: explaining how the rescue procedure will happen using articles of food, or the self-flipping pancake, not to mention an early depiction of a holodeck.

Ich habe mich beim sehen von #StarTrek immer gefragt, warum auf der #Enterprise so gut wie nichts abgesichert ist. Rechteausweitungen und lebensgefährliche Fehler auf dem #Holodeck am laufenden Band. Jeder Eindringling kommt überall rein und kann mit den Computern machen, was er will, usw.
So langsam habe ich eine Ahnung... 😅

Despite the similarities between the (fictional ... I know) tech underlying the replicator, the transporter, and the holodeck, I thought it was a fundamental limitation of the holodeck that anything in and of the holodeck could not be removed.
This is demonstrated several times when Enterprise crew members casually toss things through the door, and they disappear.
