There is the phenomenon of the hollow mask illusion. Most people look at a hollow mask and believe that it is curved outwards. But this is an optical illusion. This is different for schizophrenics and sometimes also for drug and alcohol addicts. They are immune to optical illusions. They see the mask differently.
