Last gem before going back to the photo sorting. This cabin had a nice hand painted sign. I wasn't sure what was going to be good what was going to flop so I took a few of everything while I was there. A panorama of about 4 shots from a cabin view. I didn't like how monotone the hibernating trees looked, but still tried. When I went in and made the panorama I started to see the potential. Handshot. Tripod next time. Capturing the view from a porch swing as you looked out on the beauty of nature. Been living in the city far too long and miss views like this. Due to hand held I had to crank up the ISO that put noise in the top left so I had to tighten the crop. Still a good test shot for next time.

This is a single shot. Next time I will try an HDR with a tripod and trigger. During editing I remembered my prof saying, "Expose for the highlights and develop for the shadows." This is from the Hocking Hills State Park. My girlfriend was nice enough to sit on that freezing rock! Portraits are not my forte. The shadows and lack of equipment made for a little bit of blur. I did an HDR shot as well combining two shots to try to prevent blowouts.
