So, here I am facing some stock with my Cubiko (later to be used as the case for a yarn counter I'm working on), I start the program, and an extremely stunned sawdust-covered housefly comes flapping out of the mechanism and drops to my desk.

I am no expert in housefly expressions, but I'm pretty sure that was "What in the name of Housefly Jaysus just happened!?"

This morning's moment of hilarity.

Also, note to self: dust shoe, not bug shoe.

And we're done! I need to do some light sanding to tidy up the edges, but I'm pretty pleased with how these turned out. I'm going to leave it up to the recipient to decide how to decorate them. 3D model available here, including the #FreeCad source: https://www.printables.com/model/1115339-tagalog-welsh-christmas #Christmas #Tagalog #Welsh #3Dmodelling #3dprinting #cnc #hobbycnc 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇵🇭

Anyone have experience milling #PCBs on a cheap #cnc? I'm just getting started. I want to use #OpenSource software if possible and I'm thinking my workflow is #KiCAD to design then #FlatCAM to prepare the grbl code – but I'm open to other options if anyone has recommendations? #hobbycnc #cnc3018
Not the most difficult task by any means, but I made a spoilboard for my #3018 #CNC today, including carving an alignment grid into it. Upcoming projects will involve me carving some acrylic on it, and making my own single-sided PCBs #hobbycnc
It's not the highest quality work in the world, but I have engraved our three kitchen cutting boards with “vegetables,” “poultry” and “meat” respectively. #cnc #hobbycnc #cnc3018
Any #hobbycnc #cnc folks out there? I tried to carve the word “Crafts” into a cutting board using a 20° v-bit, but it left a lot of plastic crud behind. Am I going too slow? Too fast? Is using the world's cheapest #cnc3018 and the bits it came with not gonna cut it (ha!) for this? Should I simply run the job a second time? Let me know! Wood carving 📷 for comparison.

Whoohoo! Finally some progress on the #WhootCNC! X-axis mounts done.

All axes working smoothly! Almost time to start on the electronics #cnc #hobbycnc
