The Sarcophagus of Portonaccio incredibly detailed and is named after the area in which it was found in 1931 and dates to c. 180 CE.

The level of detail in the battle scene is extraordinary and the subject matter has led to the theory that it was intended for an army general, though this is not confirmed.
