I knit a pineapple bag. Pattern adapted by Franklin Habit, based on Jane Gaugain's 1840 hit.

It came out as large, sturdy and capable of holding quite heavy loads.

Myriams reconstruction of the knitted cap from Basel , Hist. Museum, Inv. 1981.10
made with stockingstitch with a 2ply, fine, hand-spun yarn, dyed with birch leaves
Fulled using a teasel to raise the nap which was then cut down with scissors.
Unlike the original one it has no dagging cut into the lower border.
