Re-reading The Seeker by Shona MacLean and a description of the Queen's House in Greenwich, London, has reminded me of this photo I took a few years ago of one of its beautiful spiral staircases.
The Lacerda Elevator (Elevador Lacerda) in Salvador (Bahia, Brazil) during sunset. The elevator connects the lower with the upper city in the historic city center. It transports around 33.000 people daily and has a height of 72 meters.
